The incredible founders behind Australian makeup brand ‘All Shades Matter‘ – which aims to cater for people of colour and be inclusive of those with darker skin, hosted a Sip & Sample event in Sydney, May 27th.
We were thankful to be invited by Tali & Shaanti [ASM founders] to guest speak at the event, alongside three other wonderful speakers – Hannah Corcoran (The Lab), Gowtham Jeya (Beauty by Gowtham) & Suki (one half of Brown Boss Babes Australia).
It was an amazing day, getting to know more about All Shades Matter – with an insightful makeup demonstration by Industry Makeup Artist Sara Murphy (SKMK Makeup).
We loved getting to hear the stories behind each speaker’s brand and journey, and what came from each talk was a safe space and open discussion to speak on our experiences regarding Diversity and Inclusion within each industry. Interestingly, although in different industries – our experiences seemed to mirror one another, and it was incredible to be able to relate and support one another through this mutual understanding.
We met some amazing people doing wonderful things for Diversity, Inclusion & Representation in Australia, it brings so much hope & we can’t wait to see where everyone goes from here.
